Role Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing plant. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory electrical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Operations
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and machinery.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, VFDs, PLC panels, MCCs, transformers, and power distribution systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of plant utilities including DG sets, compressors, and UPS systems.
- Identify recurring electrical faults and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
- Maintain electrical drawings, schematics, maintenance logs, and breakdown reports.
- Ensure availability of critical electrical spares and coordinate with stores and vendors.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and plant safety protocols.
- Comply with statutory electrical regulations and coordinate with inspectors, auditors, and external agencies as required.
- Support internal and external audits related to electrical safety and compliance.
Continuous Improvement
- Support energy-saving initiatives and electrical system optimization.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of new machines and electrical systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical, production, and utility teams to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience:
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or process industry.
- Experience in continuous process plants or PPE / glove manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and control panels
- Hands-on experience with motors, VFDs, PLCs, and power distribution
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
